Blog #11 - Four Feathers - Reaction / Question

Pick one of the following questions and answer it by Friday, 1/15/10.
150 words minimum.

1. Who was the more genuine friend to Harry: Abou, Vicar or Jack? Before you answer, consider:

- Abou saved Jack in the desert when he lost his camel and ran out of water, and he also got him out of the Omdurman prison.

- Vicar was the only one of Harry's mates who recognized him (2x!) when Harry had come to Sudan, plus he didn't send Harry a feather and is an all-around good guy.

- Jack was the only friend who defended Harry when the charges of cowardice started flying around at the beginning of the movie, and I think he gave up his chance to marry the love of his life (Ethne) so that his friend would be happy.

2. What do you think is the greater fear as a soldier in war - the fear of dying or the fear of having to kill another person? Why? Which do you think was what Harry suffered from? Why?

3. How would this story have been different if it was told from Abou's point of view? We don't know much about his background, family, or life before "God put Harry in his path." Make some backstory up for Abou.

4. "You British walk the land too proudly." Give a few examples from the film where the characters acted just a bit too proud. Why do you think they have this swagger?

###There may be more questions later tonight or tomorrow morning. Thanks.

I think that it depends on the person. Not everyone is as brave as they say they are. Some people would feel guilty killing people, but others would just be afraid to die. I think Harry is one of the people who just did not want to kill. If he was afraid of dying he would not have went out and done all of the things he did. He endured things that could have killed him easily. So why die doing these things instead of dying for Britain?

I think the more genuine friend to Harry was Abou. Abou saved him in the desert and tried to get him to come to war. When Harry wouldn’t go, Abou laughed, pointing out that he would die sitting there in the desert. Since the worst consequence of war was also death, Harry ended up going to war with Abou. Abou also helped Harry escape from Omdurman, even though he didn’t want him going there. Abou helped him pretend that he and Trench were dead so that they could escape. It takes a true friend to follow you to a place like Omdurman. Also, after they escaped, guards from Omdurman followed Harry, Abou, and Trench to the desert. Abou helped carry Trench like Harry told him too, even though he would of rather been with Harry. I think that Abou gave Harry more courage than he would of gotten on his own, and that’s why he ended up winning the fight with the guard. I think Abou was the more genuine friend because not only did he physically help Harry, but he helped him find courage.

2. I think that the fear of killing somebody is scarier than the feeling of dying. If you killed somebody, then you would repeat that vision every day for the rest of your life. Even if you didn’t mean to do it, that is something that would really affect you for at least a really long time. Scenes that were familiar to the killing would always remind you of the event. Also, being killed in war would end the vision or pain and be final. Hopefully, it would be quick and the pain would be brief. The feelings would end with your death.
I think throughout the film The Four Feathers, Harry has suffered by killing somebody. After he killed, he left the army because he felt guilty. He kept thinking about other people and their families. He knew that he caused pain to someone else’s life. When he was alone he kept replaying the killing scene in his head. Harry eventually went back to the army because they were the only ones who could understand what it was like to be in war and to kill someone.

1. I think the most genuine friend of Harry was Jack. They were friends before the war and after. Even after Harry basically betrayed Jack right before the war, Jack defended him. He also gave up his marriage to Ethne so Harry could marry her, which would be extremely hard to do. Jack forgives Harry at the end, even before he knew it was Harry who had saved his life. Once Jack figured it out, he fully became accepting of Harry, even after he left the army the week they were shipping out to the Sudan. Earlier, Jack showed he was jealous that Harry was with Ethne, and Jack never tried to take Ethne, until she was broken up with him. This would be hard, and then letting Harry be with her at the end, even harder. Jack also had the respect for Harry to not give him a feather, showing the Jack was Harry's true genuine friend.

2) I think the greatest fear as a soldier in war is the fear of death. In order to survive you must kill the enemie you are fighting or try to evade the fight. If i was a soldier this would be my greatest fear. First of all i hate war and i think it is a terrible thing. Second if I had to go to war I would want to come home alive to all my family and friends and continue my life. Third I think when someone comes back from the army, they are never the same as before war. I think Harry suffered from killing someone. For example, in the scene were Harry fights the jail guard, Harry finds the courage to fight back. Once he does he kills the guard, he realizes what he has done and feels bad. That is what i think Harry is scared of and What my fear would be if I was a soldier.

I choose to answer question number two. It asks “What do you think is the greater fear as a soldier in war - the fear of dying or the fear of having to kill another person? Why? Which do you think was what Harry suffered from? Why?”

It depends on the soldier. As it is clear in the movie, no two soldiers are the same. Harry’s greatest fear was not dying. If it was, he wouldn’t have traveled across a desert alone with no water. He wouldn’t have stood out in the open, without protecting or shielding himself, as Mahdi soldiers charged at him. Lastly, he wouldn’t wish to go to Omdurman and risk getting beat and starved just to see his friend Trench. Harry was not afraid of dying for his mates and fellow Englishmen. Harry was afraid of something, though. That fear was killing a man. You could tell when he stabbed the Mahdi soldier after he head-butted him. As he pulled the knife/sword out of the man, he almost broke into tears. He couldn’t believe what he had done. Harry took a life!

For this blog I decided I would choose the first question. Who was Harry’s more genuine friend, Vicar, Abou, or Jack. In my perspective Abou was the better friend. Abou saved Harry and Trench from the Omdurman. Abou also saved Harry when he was in the middle of the desert by himself with no water and no camel. We also constantly see Abou giving Harry advice throughout a long period of time. We can also see how much Abou cares about Harry when Harry says that he does not walk to proudly anymore. Abou can’t really stand to see his friend in such a bad state. I do believe that Vicar and Jack both were also good friends to Harry as well, but Abou was the more genuine one. Vicar did recognize Harry twice but he really didn’t tell the others or anything. And Jack did stand up for Harry but in some ways backstabs Harry when he starts sending letters to Ethne and decides he wants to marry her. Abou in my opinion definitely was the genuine friend.

I think the greater fear as a soldier in war is the fear of having to kill another person. Some families bring up their children so that they don’t fight, and if a person joins the army and is trained to kill they might second-guess themselves. They might also feel guilty that they are taking away someone’s life. I think that Harry suffered from the fear of killing others because when he was fighting Idris, even though he could of just died instead of fighting, he was starting to cry when he stabbed Idris. Also, after he saved Jack, he seemed very depressed and I think that was from having to fight and kill all of the people of the Mahdi army away from Jack.

I am debating between Abou and Jack being the more genuine friend to Harry. I think Abou was the more genuine friend to Harry because he didn’t know anything about Harry from the get-go, and he still saved him while he was stranded in the desert with no water or food. Abou also befriended him while he was an outcast when they set up camp. He promised to protect Harry’s life, which I think shows their genuine friendship. Abou kept his promise throughout the whole movie. He helped Harry rescue Trench, got him out of the Omdurman prison, and helped him fight off the prison guards. I think Jack was the more genuine friend because he defended Harry while everyone was accusing him of being a coward. He also broke up with Ethne so Harry would be happy. I don’t think a person who wasn’t his genuine friend would do somebody that big of a favor.

I Think that the greater fear as a solider in war differs for each solider. For me, though, the greater fear would be of dying. Because, if I became a solider, it obviously means I shouldn’t’ be afraid to harm someone, right?
But for another person, it could be different. If the solider is a strong man who loves his country and would do anything for it, then I think the greater fear is dying, because killing another person wouldn’t really matter if it was for their country. But, if another person was a sweet caring person, then their bigger fear would be killing another person (Then again, if they were that nice and caring, why would they become a solider when they know they’d have to kill people in the first place?).
For Harry, I think the bigger fear was his fear of dying- and never coming back. I think the fact that he loved Ethne so much affected his decision as well- for if he never came back, he would break her heart, and he would never be with her again. The fear of killing someone didn’t really show in him during the movie-especially towards the end of the movie when he (stabbed another man-hello.) .

3. Abou was born in a poor village in Sudan. He was the only boy of 5 girls. Abou’s mother was a very religious woman who made sure they prayed multiple times a day. Although they didn’t have a lot of money, they managed to make enough so that Abou had a happy childhood up to that point. When he was nine years old his mother had another child, this one a boy. The boy was born prematurely and died shortly after Abou’s tenth birthday. This really took a toll on Abou’s family. His mother became depressed and rarely left her bed and his father left them. Still a young boy, Abou had to learn how to support his family by doing harsh manual labor. After a couple years, Abou’s mother found a new husband. This man supported the family but abused Abou. After a year of this abuse, at the age of seventeen, Abou left home. Abou never forgot his mother or his religion.

1.Who was the more genuine friend to Harry: Abou, Vicar, or Jack?

Jack really is the more genuine friend to Harry. He did things that he didn’t need to. He defended Harry when he was being accused of being a coward. He also gave up the love of his life because he knew that it would make Harry happy. Only a true friend would do those things. Abou is a close second for being the more genuine friend for Harry. But, what Abou did (save Harry in the desert) was just the right thing to do, and something most people would have done. Getting Harry out of prison was something that he didn’t have to do, but Jack still has the lead. All Vicar really did was recognize Harry in the desert. He didn’t do anything extra for Harry that only a genuine friend would do. Overall, Jack proves to be the more genuine friend to Harry in the end.

Quiestion 1. Genuine friend.

In my opinion, i think Abou was the more genuine friend to Harry. He saved Harrys friend Jack because Harry told him to do so, and he also helped harry and his friend escape from the Omdurman Prison. And Abou was very helpful the whole time while giving harry comfort and advice. Even thogh Abou said god put him in his way, He still decided to help him and he looked out for him and his friends. Jack is also Harrys friend but Jack proposed to Ethne even after he knew that his best friend was engaged to her. He didnt wait, and he had her on his mind the whole time. But at the end Jack finally realizes it was harry who had saved him in the dessert and that he had gone all the way there for them, he breaks up with her and lets Harry marry Ethne, at least that what looked like happened. so, although Jack was a good friend, Abou was a more genuine friend to Harry than Vicar or Jack.

I think that the greatest fear of a soldier in war is death, because even though they can’t live with the guilt or the pain from killing someone, the can still see their loves ones, and they can be with them. But when they are told that they are going to be in war, the fear of dying might cross their minds and things they wanted in life, like maybe travel somewhere, do something in the future or be with someone they love as much as possible. When the soldiers live together, they become friends and in the battle, they see how their friends die in front of them, and they can’t do anything about, and they are afraid because they might die in any second, or get hurt. Soldiers are humans so even though they are trained to be strong, they don’t know what is going too happened later. Harry was probably afraid that he wasn’t going to see Ethen again, and he didn't really wanted to do it, he was force and had no choice since his dad was a general and Ethen’s dad was a hero .

In the movie Four Feathers Harry who is the main character has three people that have the largest impact on his life. Those three people were Abou, Vicar, and Jack. I think that Abou was the closest friend to Harry and this is why I believe this. Vicar was his friend but he was one of the people who sent him a feather. Even though he did recognize him it doesn’t really show that he was the most genuine friend. For the case of the other soldiers who did not recognize him there were a lot of different reasons for them to have not known it was him. Also you could have someone you were friends with for a lifetime and not be able to tell who they are if their hair has grown out and they are riding a camel in the desert for the enemy so that honestly doesn’t prove anything in my opinion. In the case of Jack he was only was Harry’s friend in the beginning of the book. Even though he did not send him a white feather he did attempt to marry Ethne towards the end of the movie. It did show that they had a very strong connection because he was able to figure out that it was Harry who saved his life after he was blinded by the war in the Sudan. I personally think that out of the three men that Abou was the true and steadfast friend. About was there when Harry was dying, when Harry was in doubt that he had any honor at all, and when he decided to go get Trench and save him. Abou also tried to warn the British army about the Mahdi attack, even though they didn’t believe or address him, and he even endured being whipped all to help a friend. So that is why I think that Abou was a better friend then either British men and in a fight I want him on my side.

1) The friend I think that was most genuine to Harry was Jack. I think Jack was a more genuine friend to harry because he did defend Jack at the beginning of the movie but still sent him a feather. I think Jack sent Harry the feather because there really good friends and thought the feather would make him come back, which it would have if his dad would have listened to Harry before they left to Sudan. Jack also had a chance to be happy with Ethne but gave her up to see his Friend and his love (Ethne) happy. I feel that Harry himself thought that Jack was his most genuine friend because even after Harry found the letters he still helped Jack. At the end of the movie Harry was happy because he had his love and he had his best friend back.

1) To me I think Abou was a genuine friend to Harry in the movie. First off, Abou saved Harry in the desert out of kindness, knowing he would gain nothing by helping Harry. He also helped Harry and Trench escape from Omdurman even though he had told Harry not to go there in the first place. So even after Harry didn't listen to him, Abou made the trek, which put his life at risk, and came to save Harry for the second time. After saving Harry and Trench, Abou didn't just leave them, but instead continued on with the two of them. That's when he helped Harry for the third time. After escaping, the Omdurman guards came after the three of them to take Harry and Trench back. When Harry saw them approaching he told Abou to take Trench and carry him away while he figured out what to do with the guards. Abou didn't just save Harry and help him on his journey, but he also helped Harry uncover who he really was and confront his fears. This experience caused a major change in Harry when it was all over and many of the changes were because of Abou and his impact on Harry.

2. I think that being scared of getting killed or killing someone depends on the person. Some are scared of both. Personally I would be more afraid to kill someone because number one, I am not that kind of person. I would not want to have a memory of seeing someones life end especially because of what I did to them. I would also be scared about being looked down upon as a killer by the community. I think that it would scar me emotionally. In the film The Four Feathers, Harry too had a fear of killing another person. He showed signs of guilt after he had killed someone, resulting in him leaving the army. It showed how he kept thinking about it over and over again. I think he went back to the army in the end because he could be understood there because other soldiers have killed people as well.

2. Being a soldier in war is a very scary experience! My father was in the war and based off of that, I know that both death and guilt can scar you pretty bad! In my opinion, I think that the greater fear as a soldier in was is the fear of having to kill another person. I think this because mainly guilt. By killing someone, the soldier will remember that moment and/or moments for the rest of his or her life. Whereas, if someone were to die, depending on beliefs, they wouldn’t have to live through the pain.

In the movie, I think that Harry had suffered from the fear of killing another person. At one point, Harry left the army after killing someone because he felt so bad about it. The movie also shows this towards the end when Harry protects himself and kills the guard. Afterwards all he could do was scream in cry. Once again he felt that guilt and couldn’t do anything about it.

I think Abou was Harrys real friend because Jack sent a feather to Harry, and when he thought Harry was dead he tried to marry Ethene. Vicar was a good all around person but he should have took a stand and told Jack it’s not right to marry your best friend’s love. Abou was the only one who stayed with Harry even if it meant risking his own life, going against what his people would do, as long as it was benefiting his friend, and if it was the right thing to do, Abou did it.
I think for a solider, the worst thing of war is killing some one, because if you die that was your destiny, but if you kill some one, which might also be your destiny as well, you have to live with that memory forever in your mind until death. And it’s not like seeing a dead body; it’s seeing thousands of dead bodies, some that you know and some you might not know. But the worst part is you helped kill some of them. I think Harry suffered the thought of killing someone else because through most of the movie Harry was putting himself in situation that in the end, it would be him having a great chance of dyeing, so I think the fear of him killing was what he was concerned about.
If it was Abous point of view he would probably lost is family or not have been close to them because he’s a warrior and they had a lot of boy soldiers where he was from so he probably got chosen to be a warrior when he was eight and been token away from his family. He also never talked about parents, children, love or any thing. He just went where every God destined him.
A scene where the British “walked too proud” is when Harry saved some of his friends but still felt the need to go find Trench even though he knew he might die, and walks off kind off like dyeing for someone that might be dead was something he did every day. Also when the British thought the warriors retreated after the first battle they charged after some of the other warriors with happiness like killing was the new fashion. I think they have this swagger because they think everyone wanted to live like the British, and British had a lot of control.

Question2: I think that the fear of both dying and having to kill someone scares soldiers, but having to kill someone else is worst for soldiers because they haven’t killed another human being before. Harry suffered from the fear of having to kill someone because he never wanted to be in the army in the first place. Only following his dad’s footsteps kept him there at the barracks and base. After he found out about going to war in Sudan with the rest of the army, he left not for Ethne but because of his fears. Harry also didn’t want to disappoint his father by not going into the army. Killing another human being would have been hard for most people unless the other human was considered a savage by their priest, but Harry didn’t believe them. Harry also didn’t want to end his life so soon since he married Ethne.

2. I think that a soldier at war would dread more loosing his life against taking someone else’s. When it comes down to the point of “killed or be killed”, they wouldn’t sit back and let themselves be killed. Every man/women out on the battlefield is avoiding one thing at all costs: not coming back home. They know what the risks are of going to war, and what they would have to do, so I think being killed would be more devastating because it doesn’t just affect the soldier; it affects his family, his friends, and his fellow troops. Killing someone has got to have an extreme mental effect, but everyone battling in the war is killing too, and trying not to be killed. Being killed doesn’t happen to everyone, and you want to be the “lucky one”. In The Four Feathers, Harry was fighting with the prison guard, and the prison guard had the advantage giving that he was better fed and better housed. It came down to the scene where Harry tilts his head back, looking like he gave up, as the prison guard holds him by the collar. Harry head butts him, choosing ‘kill’ over ‘be killed’. I think most of us would do the same in his situation, whether it was beating someone up, or shooting them.

2. I believe the greatest fear of a soldier during war is the fear of killing another human being. Though most people don’t want to die, death is a part of life and happens at one point or another regardless of whether you fight in a war or not, and most people are able to realize that, but many people can’t grasp the idea of killing another, even for a greater cause or to save themselves. I think Harry suffered from a fear of killing another person. I don’t think Harry is afraid of death because of the situations he puts himself in, not just crossing the desert alone, but also getting himself locked in the Omdurman prison camp and being in between the battle between the Mhadi and British, all situations in which death was a possibility, just to redeem himself in his friends eyes and his own.

What do you think is the greater fear as a soldier in war - the fear of dying or the fear of having to kill another person? Why? Which do you think was what Harry suffered from? Why?

I think the fear of dying is a greater fear because nobody wants to die. Nobody wants to kill anyone either, but that’s more of an apprehension than an outright fear I think. Harry was more afraid of killing people, because when he told Ethne that he resigned, he ended up going to the Sudan to rejoin his friends. He could have died on the way there, and by paying out that trader, but he still did it. He also finally got the confidence to kill when he was fighting the guard, and instead of falling, he came back and headbutted him in the face. The fear of killing is easily overcome by soldiers I think, because it’s your job and you do it every day almost. Dying is different, because you think about all the stuff you haven’t done in life and what you would want to do. I’d be more afraid of dying, but I think Harry was more afraid of killing.

I think that Abou was the best friend to Harry because saved him when he was in the desert without food or water and got him back to health, protected him, got him out of prison, went everywhere Harry had to go helping him all the way, had a good time with him, and he did all this without even knowing who he was at first and simply saying “God put Harry in his way”. All the other people who were nice to Harry like Jack and Vicar had known him for a very long time and were very good friends to him but still might not have given as much devotion to helping him get where he wanted to go as Abou did. All in all I think that Abou was a superior friend to Harry than anyone else in his life.

2. I think that the greater fear for a soldier at war depends on their history. A person’s experiences with death, shape how they handle it in the future. I don’t believe that there are many people in this world who are just fine with killing others and feel no guilt, or at least I hope not. I believe that the greatest fear for a soldier at is that of having to kill another person. This is because they believe that they are fighting to help and protect their nation along with keeping people alive, and killing someone is a hard thing for the brain to excuse. I also think that most soldiers have been preparing themselves for this kind of task, or during a battle they will have to kill. Though, living with yourself and the image in your head can make it hard to live with yourself. In Four Feathers, I think that the larger fear for Harry is having to kill someone else. This is displayed when he gets in the fight with the Mahdi guard and almost gives up, trying to defend himself he kills the man. But, after he does this he breaks down, crying and completely disappointed in himself.

I think that Harry’s more genuine friend is Abbou. Abou saved Harry and Trench from the Omdurman. When Harry was trapped in the middle of the dessert with no food, water, or a Camel, Abbou saved his life. Mainly throughout the entire movie Abou helps everyone out wither it’s saving their life or just giving them life lessons. Abou cares a lot about Harry because when Harry says that he does not walk to proudly anymore Abbou doesn’t let him stay in that state. I’m not saying that the others weren’t good friends too. Vicar would help harry but not very much and not noticeably. Jack stood up for Harry although he starts sending letters to Ethne and decides he wants to take her from Harry and marry her. Overall Abou was the more genuine friend.

Jack wasn’t the best because he took his wife even though jack defended harry when he quit the army. I think harry was a better friend to jack than jack was to harry because he saved him in the desert. I think viscar was a good friend to jack because he was the only one who recognized him but that doesn’t compare to abou saving jacks life in the desert. I think Jack was a bad friend because he commanded the army to shoot when his friend viscar was still out there. Harry was still a good friend to me even though he quit the army when it was time for war. Viscar was a ok friend but he called harry a trader.

What is the greater fear as a soldier in war; the fear of dying or the fear of having to kill another person? When you think about it both are the horrible but they are completely different things. If you are dying everything you love, have done, and everything you wanted to do goes through your mind (I think) but then it’s all over. But I think it would be worse when you need to kill someone because it’s all turned around you have the power of life and death in your hand, and that alone could make a person crazy. And then the look of the person if you’re killing them at close range and you look at them in their eyes you’d get a horrible felling in your gut. I think Harry was not afraid of dying but was afraid of killing someone because at many times in the movie he put himself in life threatening positions.

I think the greatest fear of a soldier is the fear to die. Why would you go to war to die? People go to war to fight for their country and sometimes for resources, and of course they obviously have to fight and kill the enemy. That is why I don’t think soldiers are scared to kill someone because the train and practice for it before they go to war all the time. In the movie Four Feathers, Harry is a soldier, and he’s killed people before, in the movie (with a gun). So I don’t think Harry was scared of killing that man he had to fight in the movie when he was in the desert. I think he was scared of dieing, if he wasn’t scared of dieing, and was afraid of killing another man, then Harry wouldn’t have fought back, he would have just let that man kill him. That is why I think the greatest fear of a soldier is to die.

I think that Abou was the more genuine friend. At first, he was only helping Harry live because he thought that God put him in his way, but I think along the way Abou became close to him. Even though Jack was a good friend, I think if he truly was, he would have stayed away from Kate Hudson (I don’t remember the characters name). Aslo, Abou helped Harry and Trace escape from the prison, and saved both of their lives. Also Harry sent Abou to warn the British that they were going to be attacked, and when they didn’t listen, Abou got wiped. I think Abou knew that he might be punished, but he went anyway to help Harry because he was a good friend. I think all of them were good friends, just Abou was the most genuine out of all of them.

I think that jack in the end was one of Harry’s truest and best friend. Although jack has his moments where he might have been completely jealous, and wished that he had some of the things that Harry had. At the beginning when Harry decided to resign from there, Jack was the only man to now call him a coward. Although, Jack decided to stab Harry in the back and take over, still doesn’t mean that jack was not a loyal friend. Every friend needs a moment to be in the spotlight and jack finally got his chance when Harry disappeared. When Harry came back Jack realized that Ethne was really still in love with Harry and that he and Ethne would never really work out because she didn’t have feelings for him as she did for Harry. I think that Jack became a real friend. But through most of the movie, jack was always one man to be there for Harry. And I respect Jack for giving up marrying Ethne. I was surprised and happy to say that Jack and Harry are now still friends at the end of the movie.

Blog 11:
The greatest fear for a soldier in war is the thought of killing another man. Many are strong of heart and do not fear death, but the idea of having to end another human being’s life can make even the bravest men fall to their knees in fear. In the film “Four Feathers”, Harry did not go to war. In my opinion, he was afraid of being forced to kill another human being, not of dying. Had he been afraid of dying, he would not have risked his life crossing a perilous desert to find his comrades, as well as save Trench from Omdurman. Killing another man is a task that can make cowards out of some of the strongest-willed men on Earth.

I think that the greatest fear for a soldier is to kill another man. The soldiers that go into war know what they are getting into that they might not survive or that there going to have to kill someone but they never acutely experience either of those experiences until its to late and their dead. Killing another man would be something that you would have to live with for the rest of your life you would have to carry that on your shoulders and that just a lot to carry around. I think Harry suffered more from the fear of dying i think because when he told abu that he was scared to fit in the fear of dying he kind of admitted it.

Who was the more genuine friend to Harry: Abou, Vicar or Jack?
i think that Abou was a better friend to Harry because he was there with him most the time as to where Vicar and Jack were blowing him off a couple times through the move (at least thats what i though). i just think that Abou is a better friend because he seems like the kind of person that you can trust and be friends with. Abou also ends up saving Harry in the end of the movie so that just makes him out to be the better person and a better friend.

I think that out of all of the people that were mentiond Abou was the better friend. Abou saved him from the slavery and kept him safe from all the people that tried to kill him.
It seemed like no matter what happened Abou Stuck with Jack. Abou gave him food while he was in the prison and gave him water there to
